The Kazakh government has announced that the eVisa portal has been launched and is now live. Citizens of 117 countries can apply for a tourist online visa in minutes, while 23 nationalities are eligible for business and medical treatment online visas.
The new online visa was designed to speed up and simplify the application process. Until now, all foreign nationals in need of a visa had to physically visit a Kazakh embassy or consulate and fill out lengthy paperwork in order to be granted entry.
Mukhtar Tileuberdi, First Deputy Foreign Minister, said “We will check the information with the database and if there are no restrictions, we will issue a visa. This will ease the registration process, especially for the countries where there are no consular services available.”
